When Patti Accursi retired from the firm in June, she left us with big shoes to fill.
Enter Darlena Bailey. Since taking over as paralegal to Partner Jon O’Neill, Darlena has fit right in with the Kimmel Carter team, quickly erasing all of our fears about office life post-Patti.
A graduate of Widener University Delaware Law School with a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Darlena is adept at handling every aspect of an injury case.
“I love personal injury and workers’ compensation law because both of those fields produce very different cases with various needs,” Darlena says. “Working in this field I get a sense of accomplishment in helping everyday people make it out of one of the worst times in their lives.”
Like other new hires, Darlena is impressed with the friendly, cooperative office environment at Kimmel Carter. “Although there is a lot of work to be done, it never seems to be too much with the right team all working together to reach the same goal,” she says.
So far, one of her most memorable experiences with the firm was attending her predecessor’s retirement party. “Attending Patti’s party showed me just how valued each and every member of the Kimmel Carter team is,” she says.
In her spare time, Darlena loves to run and to spend time with her family.
