Earth day comes but once a year. This year we took the time to learn about the Pygmy tribe, tribe set in the Democratic Republic Congo that has been enslaved and without clean water for decades. Water-borne disease is the number one killer among the Pygmies. As their tribe has begun to dwindle in size, they have become known as “The Forgotten People”. The Pygmy Tribe has been unable to travel to clean water due to surrounding tribes threatening to capture and enslave them, Water4.org has begun digging water wells to ensure the Pygmy tribe has clean water. As you are hiking, running, or just being outdoors enjoying this Earth day, remember that we share this planet with some not as fortunate as others. Help where can and donate when you can.
