Lawyer Larry Kimmel appears on Wilmington University TV tonight at 7:30 p.m.
In a program that originally aired on February 23, Larry discussed the upcoming Blue-Gold All-Star Basketball Games, a day-long high school basketball event that benefits the Best Buddies Delaware organization. He was joined by Dynamic Physical Therapy’s Jeff Myers, Blue-Gold Basketball Board Member Fran Simeone, and local boxing legend and entrepreneur Dave Tiberi.
Larry and the other guests devoted their time on the show to discussing the Games and the impact of Best Buddies Delaware, a nonprofit that aims to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Scheduled for this Saturday, March 19 at the Bob Carpenter Center, the Games center around match ups between the top high school senior basketball players in southern Delaware and the top high school senior basketball players in northern Delaware, including a girls’ game at 1:30 p.m. and a boys’ game at 4:00 p.m.
Throughout the day, there will also be a local celebrities and sponsors game, a slam dunk contest, family games and activities and appearances by mascots and high school bands and cheerleaders. Three lucky fans will also be randomly chosen for a chance at a $10,000 shot, sponsored by Discover.
Kimmel Carter is an annual presenting sponsor for the Games, which were founded by Morton Kimmel in 1999. He is also a member of a co-founder and former chair of the Jewish Federation of Delaware’s Ben-Gurion Society, a past president of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, and a former chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Delaware State Bar Association.
