A California man has been arrested and charged with 3 counts of murder after slamming into a Prius, causing it to hit a tree on purpose. Authorities are investigating whether the suspect knew the victims, or if it was an act of intentional road violence on random victims.

During the early autumn 2019, a Wisconsin mother who was teaching her son to drive was shot to death after a minor car crash. In mid-summer 2019, an Alabama woman accidentally shot her husband in the head during a road rage incident. An Atlanta man allegedly ran over another man because he thought the other driver was hurling golf balls at his vehicle.
What to Know
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety conducted research in 2016 which showed nearly 80% of drivers expressed significant anger, aggression or road rage at least once in the previous year. Earlier research from the AAA Foundation indicates that from 2003 to 2007, over 50% of fatal crashes involved at least one driver who performed a possibly aggressive action.
Tips to Avoid Road Rage Encounters
There are some tips you can take to avoid road rage incidents, and lower your chances of encountering or escalating a road incident.
Reduce your own stress
Be as courteous to other drivers as you would be in-person
Never escalate a situation – keep your window rolled up and stay in your vehicle if you encounter an aggressive driver
Protect yourself – if you are being followed or harassed by an aggressive driver, keep a normal speed, do not react to the driver, and call the authorities if needed.
