Traffic deaths have stayed stagnant from 2020, a new Delaware Police analysis shows. The data is collected from January 1st - to September 22nd 2021. Traffic fatalities are the same in 2021 as they were in 2020. Fatal crashes that are alcohol and drug-related have decreased immensely.
This statistic includes teen, Jesse Verdugo – Navarro, who passed away after being involved in an accident on route 113 on September 1st, 2021. Jesse was a passenger in a car with friends on route 113 when the driver lost control causing the car to spin out, go airborne off a curb, and overturn. Jesse was pronounced dead at the scene, with the driver and other passengers sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
