By knowing our clients and where they're from, we can better represent them.
That's the Delaware Difference.
We're not just your lawyers. We're your neighbors.
We're making our state a better place to live and work.
We're proud to serve our community.
The old joke is that if you live in Delaware, you probably can’t leave your house without running into someone you know. This quality makes the First State a special place, and it’s a big part of how we run our practice.
Most of our attorneys graduated from Delaware high schools, attended the University of Delaware and all are active in the local community.
As leading advocates for Delaware plaintiffs and claimants, our attorneys have served in leadership positions with the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Delaware State Bar Association. Through these activities, we’ve won major fights for justice in Delaware: writing vital legislation that preserves the rights of Delaware workers and personal injury victims – and then doing what it takes to get those bills passed in Dover.
As an office, we love participating in charity walks and races, as well as contributing to our annual Ronald McDonald House toy drive. Outside of work, many team members serve on charitable boards, offer pro bono legal representation and volunteer in their communities.
The Kimmel Carter team is proud to prioritize corporate giving and to sponsor a range of charitable organizations every year.
LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE PROUDLY SUPPORT:
At the center of both our commitment to service and to giving are the Blue-Gold All-Star Basketball Games. Founded by Morton Kimmel in 1999, the annual games are a leading fundraiser for the Best Buddies Delaware organization, featuring contests between the top high school senior basketball players in Southern Delaware and Northern Delaware.
Over the years, Blue-Gold Basketball has raised millions of dollars for organizations that benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Every year, we ensure that the games have a positive impact on both the Best Buddies beneficiaries and the student athletes. When Mort Kimmel stepped down as chair of the Blue-Gold Basketball Board of Trustees in 2013, Larry Kimmel took his place, and both attorneys have devoted countless hours to organizing and fundraising for the games. The Blue-Gold All-Star Basketball Games are also a can’t-miss event for the rest of the Kimmel Carter team.
