Since its beginnings over 50 years ago, the Earth Day movement has sparked groundbreaking environmental protection laws to be passed, such as the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the National Environmental Education Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Clean Air Act.
The common mission of environmental sustainability, less pollution, and renewable energy and protective measures is shared and celebrated today on Earth Day by nearly 1 billion people globally.
